  • An Advertising assistant is a person who assists his supervisor and handles the administrative tasks of numerous people of the given department.

    The primary duties of an advertising assistant are:

    • He/she is responsible for providing administrative and sales support.
    • He/she assists sales representatives in managing advertiser/client relationships.
    • He/she coordinates and proof ad materials.
    • An advertising agent helps in developing sales collateral and maintaining the   advertising database.
    • He/she is also responsible for securing meetings, creating proposals for initial client profiles, and uncovering new prospects.

    Here are some common interview questions that come up again and again during interviews for the post of advertising assistant:

    1. Why did you apply for this position ?
    One has to tell reasons as to why he fits into this position. Think of all the positive traits in your personality that makes you suitable for the job .You have to tell how your studies, skills, experience and personal qualities will contribute to the work of the organization.

    2. What do you think it takes to be successful in an organization like this ?
    I think determination, leadership qualities, willingness to work, excellent communication skills, and team spirit are key attributes required for this kind of job. I carry all those attributes that will make me successful in my job.

    3. What do you know about this organization ?
    For answering this question you have to do detail research of the respective company. You have to tell that XYZ Company is a famous company founded by Mr.xyz.  It is 10 yr old and I believe it has a bright future.

    4. What do you know about this industry ?
    For answering this question you have to be full aware of the industry. You should be familiar with the facts and figures in the industry, you should be aware of the size of the advertising media, its growth rate per annum and any other significant trends.

    5. What do you think are the challenges of working in this industry ?
    Tell your interviewer that the competition is immense and cut throat. The time and money management are the most challenging issues in the industry. You have to be always on your toes while working in this industry.

    6. What salary range are you looking for ?
    I am interested in finding a job that is a good fit for me. I’m sure whatever salary you’re paying is consistent with the rest of the market. I think you have a good idea of what this position is worth to your company.

    While answering question in any interview just be honest but you should never sound too negative as your employer might consider that as you being a hard person to work with.
