As the name suggests a bookkeeper keeps the record of the books of a company; that is the financial accounts of a company. A bookkeeper has to record financial transactions, has to manage almost all kinds of financial statements including bank statements, profit and loss statement and the balance sheet.
If you are preparing yourself for an interview for the post of Agency Bookkeeper, then here are a few examples of the questions that can really test your skills:
1. Mention the reason why are you considering leaving your present job ?
A good answer for such a question can be that there is not enough scope for growth at the place you work currently. While answering such a question never try to criticize your present employer, this can work against you. You can even tell them that there is no job security in the company you work presently, it has not been doing well and the employers are being lay-off.
2. What all are your future goals ?
You can say that your short-term goal is to work for a good company and long-term goal is to take the company one step further, take on increasing responsibilities and always be a positive team member.
3. What do you know about our company ?
This question is generally asked to check whether you have prepared well for the interview or not. To answer this question you need to research about the company much before you go for an interview. If you go prepared you would leave a strong impression about your researching abilities.
4. Why do you think you should be selected for this post ?
You should tell them about your dedication towards your work and also tell them that you like dealing with financial statements and are an expert in keeping the books of a company in an organized manner. You can even mention if you are familiar with any sort of accounting software packages or any spreadsheet software.
5. How do you handle work pressure and stress ?
You can impress the job interviewer by saying that you don’t regard work as a pressure although there are a few times when it becomes really hectic, during those times you just try to enjoy the work as much as possible. You can even consider saying that you work better in pressure.
These questions can certainly help you out if you are looking to go for an interview but remember that it is your self-confidence that would count in the end!
