Baker Interview Questions

  • A baker is a person who bakes breads, cakes, biscuits, donuts, brownies, fudge and similar items. He or she is responsible for mixing the ingredients to form the dough by hand or by using electric mixer, giving proper shape to the dough by cutting it into desired shapes and adjusting the temperature during baking process.

    Given below are some common interview questions that come up again and again during interviews for the post of baker.

    1. Please elaborate about your qualifications, experience and skills?
    I have more than five years experience in large scale production of a variety of bakery goods. I have extensive knowledge of methods and materials used in large scale baking time, oven temperature, shortenings, flavors, methods of mixing and the use and maintenance of modern bakery equipments.  I even have ability to operate bakery equipments and work under the condition of high temperature.

    2. Tell us something about the roles and responsibilities that you had in your previous positions?
    In my previous organization I used to prepare dough for breads, rolls, biscuits, cakes, pastries and other desserts. I operated baking machines such as scales, dough mixers, bread molds, proof boxes and ovens. I even cleaned and maintained the equipments estimated the bakery needs of the hotel.

    3. Explain how you would be an asset to this organization.
    It is a bit tricky question.  The way you answer this question will discriminate you from rest of the candidates. It gives you a chance to highlight your best points as they relate to the position being discussed. You can say that – I am able to understand complex laws, codes, regulations and ordinances. I am excellent in understanding blueprints.

    4. How do you get along with your co-workers?
    I usually get along very well with co-workers. Sometimes I might run into a conflict with someone. When this happens, I usually focus on what the conflict is about rather than on personalities. I find that approach helps me to maintain a successful relationship with anyone

    5. What is more important for you among high salary, job recognition and advancement?
    For me, those things are inseparable. Although I am not obsessive about money, I believe when you work hard then money will automatically flow to you. I assume that with success and advancement and recognition are more important.
