Engineering Interview Questions

    Engineering is the discipline, science, art and profession of acquiring and applying technical, scientific and mathematical knowledge to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems, and processes that safely realize a desired objective or inventions. The person who practices engineering is called an engineer.

    An interview is a recruitment process in which a potential interviewer asks questions from a prospective candidate. Given below are some common interview questions that come up again and again during interviews for this post.

    1. What qualification and skills will you bring to our organization?
    I have ample experience in this field. I have worked on Window 95/98, UNIX, and LINUX. I am proficient in computer languages such as C, C++, Lisp, Java, and Visual Basic. I am also familiar to MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, HTML and Dreamweaver. I can work successfully in team and independent environment. I possess natural communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills.

    2. What do you mean by object oriented programming?
    OOP or object oriented programming is a programming paradigm that uses abstraction to create models based on the real world. It provides for better modeling of the real world by providing a much needed improvement in domain analysis and then integration with system design. OOP is about modeling the real world.

    3. What are your key achievements?
    Due to my drive to push forward, positive attitude towards problem solving and my ability to overcome obstacles in life, I was able to receive two promotions within one year in my previous company.

    4. What do you do in your free time?
    This question is basically asked to know your interest and hobbies. You can impress an interviewer by your answer. You should highlight activities you enjoy that demonstrate your versatile, recharging and an outgoing personality.

    5. Would you like to ask any question?
    You should ask plenty of questions from interviewer to show interest in the position and company. The employer won’t hire someone who has no questions. You should prepare question in advance for the interviewer such as the growth scope, your project etc.

    It is very crucial to be prepared for an interview. During the course of an interview, you may be asked various questions. Just one bad answer can stand out and cost you the job. So prepare well before appearing for an interview. Do not forget to say “Thank you” to the people who interviewed you.
