A Civil Engineering Technicians use the principles and theories of science, engineering, and mathematics to solve technical problems in research and development, manufacturing, sales, construction, inspection, and maintenance. They help and assist civil engineers in planning roads, bridges and tunnels. He or she plans, designs, and oversees construction and maintenance of structures and facilities under the direction of engineering staff or physical scientists.

I am a very career oriented person and the occupation specific tasks that I have performed include analyzing proposed site factors; designing maps, graphs, tracing, and diagrams; calculating dimensions; designing layouts; and preparing reports and documents on project related activities. I also planned and estimated costs for installation of systems, conducted field surveys and inspected project sites to ensure conformance to design specifications.
2. What is your educational qualification? What skills will you bring to our organization?
Well, I have a degree in civil engineering and additional knowledge of AutoCAD. I have profound knowledge and ability to apply mathematics, including trigonometry, elementary statistical functions, drafting methods and equipment and engineering principles. I can easily prepare complex design drawings from engineering sketches. I have excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
3. What do you do in your idle time?
This question is basically asked to know your interest and hobbies. You can impress an interviewer by your answer. You should highlight activities you enjoy that demonstrate your versatile, recharging and an outgoing personality.
4. How do you feel about working alone in an empty construction site if you are on the night shift?
Please give an honest answer to this question. Do not try to please the interviewer by hiding truth. I you do not like to work in night then tell the interviewer that you only want a day shift position.
5. What salary range are you looking for?
I am interested in finding a job that is a good fit for me. I am sure whatever salary you are paying is consistent with the rest of the market. I think you have a good idea of what this position is worth to your company.
