  • Engineering Intern job is a job provided to recent engineering graduates by the companies for giving them some exposure in this field. Engineering Intern professionals are on the first stage of their career. He or she should be graduates in any of the disciple of engineering.  They are temporary employees who provide support for district staff at varying level and who receive on-the-job training.

    Interviews for the post of engineering intern can be awkward and nerve-racking. In this article I would like to provide you some important questions that are frequently asked in the interview for this post.

    1. Tell us something about yourself?
    It is the most general interview question. This question sounds simple, but in reality it is not so simple. The interviewer is looking for a quick overview of your career and your academics. You should not tell about your family, pets, hobbies, or the funny thing that happened to you yesterday. Just tell the interviewer about your professional self. The best way to answer this is to give a brief summary of your qualification so far, focusing on your specific accomplishments.

    2. Did you ever have a group project in your class, and if so how was your experience?
    This question is related to your academics. Talk about the project you have made, the technology you have used, your team size, difficulties you face etc.

    3. What makes you unique and a good candidate for this internship?
    Tell the interviewer your personal qualities/traits. Example: As you need some one who can manage your engineering department. This is my field of interest. I have contacts, methods, principles, and successful management techniques.

    4. What skills will you bring to our organization?
    I have proficiency in MS word, MS Excel, Power Point, Windows 98/2000, and Photoshop. I possess very good troubleshooting skills, customer service skills, interpersonal, management, organizational and problem solving skills. I can work successfully in team as well as in independent work environment.

    5. Would you like to ask any question?
    You should prepare question in advance for the interviewer such as the growth scope, work environment, etc. It gives a good impression as it shows that you are eager to work with that company.

    It is very essential to be prepared for an interview. During the course of an interview, you may be asked various questions. Just one bad answer can stand out and cost you the job. So be careful while you appear for an interview.
