A hotel concierge is an employee who lives on the premises of a hotel and serves as a general property caretaker. They have to assist hotel guests with various tasks such as making restaurant reservations, arranging for spa services, recommending nightclubs, booking transportation, procuring tickets to special events and assisting with various travel arrangements and tours of local attractions.

1. Please elaborate about your roles and responsibilities in your previous hotel?
In my previous hotel I was responsible for handling paying guests and customer needs for services, maintaining the security for customer safety, handling customer’s inquiries by giving accurate information to customers and training the employees about how to handle emergency situations. I also maintained database of customers.
2. Why did you apply for this position?
One has to tell reasons as to why he fits into this position. Think of all the positive traits in your personality that makes you suitable for the job. You have to tell how your studies, skills, experience and personal qualities will contribute to the work of the organization.
3. What do you think it takes to be successful in an organization like this?
I think willpower, physical strength, eagerness to work, excellent communication skills, and team spirit are key attributes required for this kind of job. I carry all those attributes that will make me successful in my job.
4. What do you do in your free time?
This question is basically asked to know your interest and hobbies. You can impress an interviewer by your answer. You should highlight activities you enjoy that demonstrate risk taking, recharging and an outgoing personality.
5. Why did you left your previous job?
This is a very sensitive question. Never abuse or disregard your previous employer. You can politely answer this question by saying that there was no growth scope in my previous company that’s why I left it. I am looking for a company with long term growth opportunities. You have a brand name and I think I will get an excellent growth opportunity in your company.
