I have more than 3 years working experience in fast food, restaurant and hotel operations. I have strong technical knowledge and I can easily provide customer requirements properly. I have excellent communicational, interpersonal and problem solving skills. I have good knowledge of hotel procedures, policies, equipment.
2. Can you please tell us about the roles and responsibilities that you have undertaken in your previous organization?
In my previous organization I used to coordinate and supervise the activities of hotel service workers. I was solely responsible for maintaining effective communication between the different department managers and service workers. I was liable for maintaining a certain appearance required by the hotel dress code and training co-workers in the hotel. I also helped in promoting a helpful and courteous atmosphere for guests and co-workers. At the end of the day I used to report important information to the general manager.
3. What occupation specific tasks have you performed?
Occupation specific tasks that I have performed include training subordinates by using proper techniques and documentation, keeping the records of arrivals, bills and rooms, supervising all staff operations by giving them duties and organizing shifts for all staffs.
4. How do you supervise those people who work under you?
The interviewer is not looking for a long or flowery dissertation here. Just demonstrate your policies and strategies for getting work done.
5. What are your weak and strong points?
It is an excellent question which gives you a nice chance to put an optimistic turn on something negative. You have to cast your negatives into positives. Like in weakness you can say that I am too focused toward my work and I think I should take out time for myself. As far as strong points are concerned, they expect a simple answer from you. Just tell that you are hardworking, careful, perfectionist and determined.
