1. What is data driven?
If you will select the data driven option then this is an ultimatum to the informatica server and it will soon ignore all the strategic transformation which has taken place in the mapping.
2. What is the dissimilarity between the start and abort?
There are various session in one batch. If you want to stop a session which is a part of a batch then you will have to use the stop command. If the batch is nested in another batch then you will have to stop the outer most batches. The abort function provides the time out of 60 second. If the processor or the server is not able to finish the job during this time then it will be automatically aborted.
3. Can you start a session within a batch individually?
Let me tell you that one can start the sessions in this way in the case of sequential batches only. In case of the concurrent batches it is virtually impossible.
4. What is the difference between the Informatica 7.0 and Informatica 8.0?
The main difference between the informatica 7.0 and 8.0 is that in informatica 8.0 the power exchange concept has been added.
5. Do you know that what is the difference between the rank and dense rank?
As far as the rank is concerned the same rank is being assigned to two people with same number. It is also called the gold ranking. It is followed in golf. However, in the dense ranking it is not so.
6. What are different kinds of aggregation?
Some examples of aggregation are SUM, AVG, COUNT, MAX, MIN, LAST, MEDIAN, PERCENTILE etc.

8. Have you ever normalized any database?
Yes I have normalized many databases up till 3CNF. It was a great experience for me.
