Project Manager is one of the posts which come over the team leader. A single project manager at a time can manage a single project or if he is senior then he might be asked to manage multiple projects as well. Some of the interview questions which can be asked from you during the interview are as follows:
1. What is the meaning of quality standards regarding software projects?
There are many companies. Hence there should be a method for describing which one is better. This method deals with the quality standards. Capability maturity model or CMM and ISO are some of the ways through which quality standards is being checked.
2. What is CMM level 5?
There are five levels of the CMM which are respectively 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. As far as the CMM level 5 is concerned it requires optimization. At maturity level 5, you can shift the mean of the process in order to improve the process quality. This is done to achieve the quantitative process improvement objectives.
3. Explain in one line the CMM level 1 companies?
At the CMM level 1, you will certainly find the process to be ad hoc and chaotic. The company does not have any stable environment.
4. What is Parkinson’s Law?
In words of Parkinson’s, “the work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion”.
5. Have you ever managed more than one project at a time?
Yes, I have managed more than one project at a time.
6. How difficult it was?
Certainly, it was not too difficult. We are among CMM level 5 companies and hence the whole process is being managed in standard format. All the team members are quite aware about the rules and hence there is nothing such difficulty in it.
7. Have you done the coding part ever?
Yes, I was a software programmer before. During those days, I used to analyze the software as well as do the coding part as well.
8. Why are you so confident about this job?
I have been in this field for more than five years now. hence I feel quite confident about this job.
9. What are your educational qualifications?
As far as my educational qualification is concerned, the highest qualification which I possess is MBA. I have done the MBA in software project management.
These are some of the questions which can be asked from you during the interview. One thing is for sure that you will have to practice very hard.
