  • Line Cook is a food production employee who typically works under the proper guidance of a Sous Chef. He works on the assembly line in a hotel/restaurant. His job is to prepare the daily mise en place of the food items. Preparing and assisting senior chefs in the preparation, presentation of the food. Adhering to strict standardized recipes and portion sizes. They are the entry level jobs whose primary task is to learn diverse cooking techniques and skills.

    1. How will you handle a peculiar situation which compels you to become tired    or absent from work.
    First of all I would like to remain patient and focused on my current job which will automatically not divert my mind somewhere else. I will prioritize my work according to the given situation. I will be proactive in my work and would analyze the future situations well in advance which will decrease my work load.

    2. Have your ideas or thoughts ever been implemented by your immediate senior chef?

    Yes my positive and creative ideas were always appreciated by my chef. He would always give me freedom to exercise my ideas into my work.

    3. Have you ever confronted with your colleague & how did you manage to pacify that confrontation?
    Yes at some point of time I confronted my colleague owing to some misunderstanding between the two of us. There was some sort of miscommunication which lead to severe mishap. Then onwards I made it a point to communicate clearly and accurately with my colleagues. I started giving ear to each and every minute detail that concerned my work.

    4. What will you do in order to maximize profit and minimize losses for your company?
    I will strictly follow the guidelines and procedures of the company. I will try to improve my skills and techniques which will increase my productivity. This will automatically yield better and fruitful results for the company. I will never indulge myself in a negative activity that will hamper my work.

    5. Tell me something about your personal preferences and habits?
    I prefer working in a multicultural environment with people of diverse nationalities, religions. It will give me a golden opportunity to acquaint myself with myriad personalities and cultures. I prefer a job which is very challenging and at the same time realistic which will bring the best out of me. My strongest habit is that I want my work to be 100% accurate without any shortcomings. I am a perfectionist in my work.
