  • A Medical Collector is a Healthcare practitioner who is an expert in the field of collecting the money or funds from the insurance companies. He is responsible for the reading of an aging report. This is also a position which requires the activities which includes follow up and collections, contacting commercial insurance carriers to follow up on outstanding claims. He also creates appeals and several follow up appeals which follows through and follow-up on outstanding collection accounts.

    1. What are the qualities of a Medical Collector?
    Sir, Person must have an excellent stability and 4 to 6 years experience in the field of medical billing and collections and have a good understanding of physician reimbursement, managed care, commercial and CMO payer contracts. He will be responsible for handling Medicaid, Medicare, self pay and private insurance claims and must be able to start immediately and have a professional personality.

    2. What kind of support do you offer managers, directors and front-line staff, knowing the stress of the nursing shortage and the increasing acuity of our patients?

    Well Sir, as a candidate I will be very professional and try my best to excel in the field of writing and verbal communication skills. I will also try to enhance my knowledge in the departments of ICD and CPT coding guidelines and update with the various medical terminology.

    4. Tell us about a high level innovative ideas or the change that you implemented yet. Was it successful or not?
    Sir, I had implemented a superb idea in my organization which is still followed by the staff. I have changed the scheduling of managing the patients inside the hospitals. Before my update there was very hectic scheduling. Yes, it was purely a successful implementation.

    5. What methods do you use to foster open communication with staff and management?
    Sir, I will always try to assemble them for the good cause. I will try to motivate them about their responsibilities and try to create a friendly atmosphere within the organization.

    6. What is your definition of empowerment?
    Well sir, according to me empowerment means to increase the spiritual, political, social or economic strength of individuals and communities. It also means to give power to do something.
