A network analyst holds the responsibility of configuring all the network settings of the organization. His work is to design, build and install a network in an enterprise. He also troubleshoots all the technical errors that occur in the network. He analyses the network related business requirements and provides possible solutions. This job is offered by big retail companies, government departments and financial enterprises. Various IT companies also offer this work. The work offers new challenges and requires good and advanced skills both at a technical and nontechnical front. I am providing here few important interview questions that are mainly asked in an interview of a network analyst.
1. Do you hold any certification in network field?
Mention about the certification courses you have done. There are various such certifications like CCNA, CCDP, and CCNP etc. These certifications are of great value and companies usually give importance to candidates who hold such certifications.
2. What skills are required for a network analyst?
A network analyst should have good technical knowledge of the hardware, software and programming concepts. He should be able to analyze and troubleshoot all the network related issues. Intelligent communication skills and negotiating ability are added traits required and essential for becoming a good network analyst. He should be methodical and analytic in his approach.
3. Will you be comfortable if we train you for 6 months or more?
Your answer should definitely be yes. You must take this question with enthusiasm. You can quote that you wish to excel in your skill and any such training that helps you sharpen your technical skills are surely welcomed by you. Also say that you are a fast learner and have a deep interest in your field of work.
4. Tell about a major problem that occurred in your work area and how did you resolve it?
Your past experience of working in this field will surely help you answering this question. Mention about a major network issue or a business requirement. Tell about the various criticalities that were related to it. What solution did you suggested and what was the reason of choosing that solution. Be genuine and systematic with your answer.
