The nursing specialty that deals with the care of newborn infants during the first four weeks after birth is known as a Neonatal Nurse.     4. What do you mean by the Incubator?
    Sir, an incubator is a device for controlling the temperature, humidity, and other conditions in which a microbiological culture is being grown. The simplest incubators are insulated boxes with an adjustable heater.

    5. What do you mean by Aminophylline?
    Sir, Aminophylline is a medication used to stimulate an infant’s central nervous system. It is prescribed to reduce the incidence of apneic episodes. This is the intravenous form; the oral form is known as Theophylline.

    6. What do you mean by Anemia?
    Well sir, Anemia is a condition in which the red blood cells in the blood that is measured by a hematocrit or “crit” when they are lower than the normal. Red blood cells carry oxygen and carbon dioxide to and from tissue.

    7. What do you mean by Apgar score?
    Sir, Apgar score is numerical summary of a newborn’s condition at birth based on five different scores, measured at 1 minute and 5 minutes. Premature infants normally have lower scores than full-term infants, but the Apgar score does not accurately predict future development.
