An Optician is a worker who uses to make or sell the glasses, lenses and spectacles for the remedy of defects of visualization i.e. defects related to eyes. He is trained and expert professional who has licensed in the field to design and fit unexpected piece of equipment to correct the cosmetic, traumatic or anatomical defects of the eyes with the help of devices called as Shells or Artificial eyes. He can work with the help of Ophthalmologists and Optometrists.
Here, in this context, I am going to focus on the various questions and answers which can be asked by the interviewer while you are facing the interview of an Optician. Please, have a look before encounter with the interview.
1. What qualification do you need to be an Optician?
Well sir, I am a graduate in the field of Science. A dispensing optician deals directly with the public so he must be tactful, pleasant and have an excellent communication skill. Manual dexterity and his ability to do precision work are essential. Dispensing Opticians can apply to the ABO and the NCLE for certification of their skills. All applicants of the age group 18 or older with a high school diploma or equivalent are eligible for this exam. There must be a renewal of the Certification in every three years through the continuing education.
2. If we will hire you for this post, how will you proof you are fully eligible candidate for this?
Well sir, I am aware about my skills and my abilities. I will be definitely fit in this job. I have very strong science background and also good in the communication skills. I know that an optician will help his patients by selecting, ordering, and dispensing of eyeglasses and contact lenses according to their demands. Their goal is to help the patient to select the appropriate glasses, sun glasses or contact lenses to meet their optical needs in terms of comfort, fit, and style. He may work in a hospital, eye clinic or retail optical store setting.
3. What do you mean by Amblyopia?
Well sir, it is a kind of disease which causes laziness to eyes. It decreases the vision of one or both eyes without detectable anatomic damages in the eyes. It is a type of incurable disease of Visual Pathways i.e. our eyes.
4. What do you mean by Amsler grid?
Well, it is a test card which is used for detecting the central visual field distortions of defects like that of Macular degeneration on the basis of black and white lines.
5. What do you mean by an Aphakia?
Sir, it is the symptom in the eyes in which there is absence of crystalline lens which occurred after the cataract extraction.
