A Production Editor is a person who manages the editorial production process. He or she oversees all phases of the production process, ensuring that books are produced in a timely and well organized manner, while maintaining high quality standards. A production editor is responsible for managing, executing the production for divisional, company, institute and contract clients.

For me work atmosphere and level of responsibility is most important. I would like to work in a pleasant and cool environment with individual’s works independently towards attaining team goals. I am not concerned about minor elements, such as dress codes and the level of formality. I feel that this job ticks most of my dream job boxes. It is a tough role, requiring a significant amount of talent and capability, which I feel I have.
3. What are the different modes in vi editor?
There are basically three modes of vi editor: command mode, insert mode and line mode. In command mode, most letters, or short sequences of letters, that you type will be interpreted as commands, without explicitly pressing Enter. In insert mode, whatever you type is inserted in the file at the cursor position. Line mode is used to enter line oriented commands.
4. What skills and education are required for this job?
A production editor must be proficient in English language and grammar. A degree is necessary, although it does not have to be in English Literature or Creative Writing. If you have experience in this field then too you can easily get the job of Production Editor. Apart from this you must have good knowledge of computer language such as QuarkXPress, Frame Maker, illustrator, Photoshop, PageMaker and MS Word.
5. What is your greatest weakness?
Always try to turn your negative into positive. My weakness used to be that I accepted too much work in an effort to please everybody. But I think I should take out sometime for myself.
