  • A route driver is a well trained person who drives trucks from a central receiving station to all the other location. They sell and deliver retail goods and wholesale products throughout the distributed routes.  He is liable for loading, unloading, collecting and delivering materials. They are also responsible for proper operation of truck and for prompt reporting of any repairs.

    Interview is a two way communication process in which an employer asks questions from a prospective candidate. If you are planning to have a career in this field then you should be able to answer some of the frequently asked questions which are listed as under:

    1. Please elaborate about your experience and skills?
    I have ample experience in this field. I am a Class C license holder along with excellent customer service skills. I am proficient in forklift driving. I also possess good inventory and invoice skills.

    2. Tell us something about the responsibilities that you had in your previous positions?
    In my previous job I was responsible for driving the vehicle throughout the distributed routes to deliver merchandise, collecting money from customer and following up complaints and requests of the customers. I also kept the record of orders, sales and sales contracts.

    3. Why should I hire you?
    Demonstrate your accomplishments in front of the interviewer. One has to tell reasons as to why he fits into this position. Think of all the positive traits in your personality that makes you suitable for the job. You have to tell how your studies, skills, experience and personal qualities will contribute to the work of the organization.

    4. What is your greatest weakness?
    It is a good question which gives you an excellent opportunity to put an optimistic turn on something negative. You have to mold your negatives into positives. The interviewer who asks this question is looking to see how honest you are with yourself, and how well you deal with your own shortcomings. Do not pretend that you do not have any weaknesses. This is your chance to show that you are honest and take responsibility for your actions. You can say that - I am too focused toward my work and I think I should take out time for myself.

    5. What is your greatest strength?
    Then expect a simple answer to this question. You must tell your strength in relation to the work. You can say that you are highly perfectionist. You love to work hard and under pressure.
