A statistician is a person who works with theoretical and applied statistics. He or she is responsible for measuring, interpreting, and describing the world and human activity patterns. They apply their knowledge in production, research, finance, medicine, insurance and government industry.

1. Tell us something about the skills that are required to become a good statistician?
According to me a good statistician is that person who is confidant, structured, fast learner, hard working and goal oriented. They should be capable of meeting deadlines and working under pressure. He or she must be able to function successfully in both team and independent work environments. It is very important that they should have good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
2. Elaborate your educational qualifications, experience and skills?
I have handsome experience in this field. I have worked in windows, UNIX, DOS and other systems. I have deep knowledge of multivariate calculus, linear algebra, probability and statistics. I am also familiar to software such as SAS, STATA, SPSS, SPLUS, Excel and many more. Apart from this, I possess excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills.
3. Please tell us something about the job specific tasks that you have performed?
The profession specific tasks that I have performed in my previous organization include defining analysis endpoints and statistical methodology, executing analysis and interpreting statistical results. I had to provide accurate, statistically appropriate outputs and plan statistical activities including work of other statisticians, programmer and contract research organizations. I also performed quality data analysis using relevant tools and techniques.
4. What do you think it takes to be successful in an organization like this?
I think willpower, leadership qualities, eagerness to work, excellent communication skills, and team spirit are key attributes required for this kind of job. I carry all those attributes that will make me successful in my job.
5. Tell me about your educational background?
Just give a short detail of your academic background. I have done Ph.D. in statistics from a well known university, MS in mathematics and BS in Mathematics.
