If want to win a job position then you will definitely have to pass an interview. You cannot really escape from the interview. However let me describe the theatrical director at first. A theatrical director directs the plays whereas the producer provides the money. If you want to become a theatrical director then you will be interviewed by some of the senior directors of the theater as well as the producers.
As far as the interview is concerned, you can be asked following questions:
1. Tell us something about yourself ?
This is a senior position and hence you have to describe in detail. But you should know that what you have to describe. Let me tell you that you will not have to describe your family. You will just have to describe about the years which you have passed in the theater. There is higher percentage of chance that at this level the recruiters must know you. If this happens then you should not be surprised.
2. What you did today?
This is a friendly question. You are just required to describe whatever you have done on that day. However you can skip your personal matter. You can say that I was busy in some of my personal matters. That will definitely do well.
3. What does theater mean to you?
One of the answers can be: “theater is a playground for me where my artists play under my guidance and the god sees and rewards. In other words it a place for worship.
4. Have you ever been linked to Hollywood?
Just tell whatever you feel right. Your words will definitely be counted. However if you will tell a lie then you will definitely be the looser. The point is that if you have worked in Hollywood then it is well and good. Just do not tell a lie. This is my advice to you.
5. How many plays you have directed?
Be prepared with this question. You will definitely be asked this question. At first you should tell the name of the theater in which you have worked. The number of theater can be more than one as well. After this you will have to tell the name of all the plays you have directed.
6. Have you ever acted in any play? If yes then what was the response of the crowed?
You must have worked as an actor sometimes. Just tell about those moments.
These are some of the questions which might be asked from you. You will have to make sure that you are confident enough to give the answer of each question. As far as the preparation at this high level is concerned, you are just required to concentrate hard on the work which you have done up till now.
