1. Tell about your qualifications and experience for this field?
You should have sound technical skills in the field of Unix. If you are a certified professional then it will be an added advantage for you. Tell about your projects you did as a learner during your training time. If you have been working then tell about your experience.
2. A Unix file system shows 100%. While you log in and clear the offending file, the system still reports out 100%. What is the possible reason?
The reason behind it is that the file that has been cleared is still open by the application it was called. The handling of file was still in use and hence the system is not recognizing the freed space.
3. Tell us about the most complex hardware or software issue you have dealt with and how did you resolve it?
Give detail about any project you had during your training time. If you have an experience of working, then tell about it. Give specifications about the problem that occurred. The fatal that error could cause. What steps you took. Give logically connected steps.
4. What is DHCP.
DHCP stands for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. It is a protocol to assign an IP address to a machine dynamically.
5. Give default port for SSH server.
The default port for SSH server is 22.
6. Do you have Linux at home?
An interviewer generally prefers that the candidate should show genuine interest for his field. Through this question he checks you whether you take it as your hobby. Be honest. If you have ever done any thing that is innovative or you experimented with it in your own style then do mention it.
